1942年初，天生没有痛感神经的地下党路南边正在大土匪关四的地牢里昏睡，等待执行死刑，但迟迟没有人来处决他。他奋力挣脱牢笼，发现土匪窝和山下的丰庆县城内烽火连天，死尸遍地，日军的“二月扫荡”开始了。为恐怖的是，大批日军占据了街头巷尾，烧杀淫掠，实施“三光”政策。为了和“上线”接头，传递重要报，路南边披荆斩棘，摆脱日军的追击，终于来到了一个难民们的山中营地。在接下来的日子里，路南边和难民们不仅要面对凶残日军的一路追杀，要承受来自灵魂深...
